I love shooting backlit scenes, and saw this possibility unfold months before i was able to snap the shutter on it. I finally saw the perfect opportunity...a crisp 21 degree january morning. It was taken in the Big Creek nature area near Waldon, AR.

I like this very much! Such a wonderful mood and look you captured with these conditions. Kind of makes me think of a spider web. Very nice Justin.

I too like this a lot and how it is all about light; with the rays coming through the fog creating incandescent glow on the icy foliage; and how those rays are clearly evident at the very top of the dark tree trunk over on the right.. And then over further to the right the sort of rim light along the left edge of that tree trunk, which could be from a coating of ice.

Nice contrasts in dynamic range and pastel blues and yellows that pull my eye into the center and then up to that tree and off to consider its source.

Nick's right, it does have a web appearance to it. The light is the show here and you have caught it well. Maybe burn in the light streak at the top of the foreground tree, but that's all I see that could improve it. Well done.

Really nice light Justin. The back lit branches do look like a spiders web.

Justin,

Hard to top your first post here, but this comes close! Actually hard to compare since they're both different and completely stand on their own! This is wonderful! It is of course all about the light. Kudos to you for recognizing the opportunity and returning when the time was right.

Beautifully captured. No nits or suggestions.

Justin, you present this forest scene at its best in my opinion. I enjoy all the details of the delicate textures. Perfect excposure and processing to my eye.

Nice cold looking image! Even with the warm light, it looks cold.
