Thank you all for your feedback on my last image. It was an incredible area to photograph.

Here is the next one from the same pumice field. In this case the reflected right from the already risen sun was starting to make things a little difficult for my exposures. I did the best I could both in the field and in development. I still think it is a bit to high in contrast, so I ask you all to let me know what you think of that aspect.

In this composition I tried to bring one of the burned trunks closer up for more detail while still retaining the environment it was in.

4x5, Nikkor 150mm, f64, 4 secs, 81EF flter, Fuji Provia 100F.

Your comments and feedback much appreciated.

Large version included for detail although it was saved at level 5 to meet size limit.

I particularly like the comp you have selected Youssef. I think your exposure works well too. The contrast looks just right on my monitor.

I am really enjoying the stark nature of the image. Well composed and done. I am seeing a bit of blue, which I might consider making a bit more neutral.

I think I like the comp in this one more than the first post. The lines of the branches repeating in the hills gives this a sweet rhythm. These two images make a fine pair.

Youssef,

Excellent in it's own right, although I think the previous rendition was a little more compelling. I do like the additional context of location here showing a bit more of the crater slopes(?) and surprised to see snow in the bg there? But this works beautifully in isolating a single sage. Personally, I think the contrast is right on, especially for the diffused lighting conditions you had. No real nits or suggestions, well done Youssef.

Youssef, I enjoyed your other post from here very much, but now I like this one even better! I think this comp works great and I really like the light and colors. I agree they make a great pair.

Another unique and interesting shot from there. I like the flow in the comp of the trees leading into the distance and the quiet light.

Just looking at this picture will improve my own images. I think I know where this is, or a place just like it and tried to photograph it, but didn't capture anything like this. Great comp. and light. Thanks for sharing.
