Red Fox

Haven't posted in this gallery for a while, but I have been photographing a couple of Red Foxes a lot recently in London near me. This one was taken last weekend, and there was a tick layer of frost over the ground. One of the animals trotted towards me through the early morning sun, across a lovely background of autumnal foliage.

Techs:
Nikon D300s
Nikon 200-400mm f4 VR at 220mm
Handheld
F4
1/400s
ISO 500

Love the early morning light, the frost on the ground, the angle, the stalking pose of the animal, and the wily look in the fox's eyes. I guess I like it all! Really wonderful capture. Didn't know they had Red Foxes in London!!

Very nice Oscar. It looks to me like the fox is walking across a thick piled carpet created by that wonderful frost. Well composed and exposed.

I really like this image, Oscar, for a variety of reasons - the low pov, the intense look in the fox's eyes, the sharpness, the golden lighting, the blurred autumnal bg, and the crisp snowy carpet. Maybe, I'd crop out a little more of the foreground, though. :toast:

Striking photo with great light!
I love the light on the eyes!
I might tone down the bg leaves a little as they compete with the fox, but beautiful as posted!

Superb light and colors! I like the pose and eye quality. I agree with removing some of the oof foreground. All in all, excellent capture.

Beautiufully done Oscar, the light, setting and technical detail are super. Personally I might crop just a sliver off the right side; I appreciate that you have left room for him to enter the frame but since he's tight on the left I reason that a little more balance is required of the right side. :toast:

This is really lovely. A perfect combination of colors between foreground, background and the subject (which has the same colors as all of its surroundings).
