Excellent sharpness and detail. Nice color and exposure.

Is this from a blind?

Is the bird baited?

Very, Very nice detail, colors, comp and BG Jagdeep. Love that eye. Curious myself if a blind or bait was used. I know the kingfishers around here would never let you get this close.

Fantastic shot! Maybe a horizontal or square crop to get the bird a little further from the left edge.

A superb photo, Jagdeep. Detail and colors are incredible but I'll admit to some curiousity about the questions you've been asked...

Thanks friends!
It is neither blind nor baited.Actually, I happened to spot this KF at nearby branch and it was not at all photogenic, but as I focused my camera, it flew off and landed at this perch. This was over the water body in Bharatpur, India. I started stalking the subject, inching nearer, step by step. It took about half an hour to reach at the closest. This is about 90% of the frame. After taking many shots, I started moving away, as I wanted to try it's flight but it flew off.
While stalking, more than 90% of the times, subject flies off, but I always pin for that 10%, because, if it stays, I get the frame.
