by Gerald Liddelow
With all the fall colors gone in NYS, I headed out to Montauk point lighthouse.Althought there were alot of clouds the sunrise itself was not spectacular, but with the sun and clouds I was able to get this.Hope you enjoy.

7 commentsReminds me of conditions I see over Puget Sound. Except there the sun is usually going down, not up for a scene like this. Nice capture Gerald!
The clouds have a stormy look to them while the ocean is very calm and the sun’s rays are a real bonus. You do need just a bit of clock-wise rotation to straighten the horizon.
A great and glorious sky - light rays like this are always a joy to watch and experience. I like the light and color being reflected on the water and it's especially nice in the near foreground. Honestly though there's a whole bunch of ocean that's not doing much for me. To me, all the drama and light is above the horizon, but it is only occupying maybe 1/4 of the frame. Would like to see more emphasis on the rays of light, but in the end you did well to include and show the reflected light and color in the water and surf.
