I had never seen one of these before and thought to myself, "Wow, that looks just like a miniature pineapple plant. Well low and behold that's exactly what it is!

Focal Length: 200mm
Aperture: f/5.6
Shutter Speed: 1/320
ISO: 400

I look forward to any comments you may have.

Very cool, I've never seen one of these. Nice subtle sidelighting. I wasn't too sure about the color of the BG when I first opened this but the more I look at it the more I like it.

Neat little pineapple that you've positioned well in the frame.

Very unique I think, Tim. I like everything about this. composition is very good. "Miniature"? meaning it is not a full size fruit or a miniature that has been developed that will stay small?

Sorry, but I am personally getting a little tired of all these pineapple images getting posted lately. Just kidding, of course. Very original. If Albert's image is a milkweed dancer, this looks like a pineapple dancer. I like the color including the complementary bg. My only minor nit is the oof leaf blade running up the center.

Tim:
We have this in a public garden near me. Neat composition and good lighting. Agree with Scott about the OOF leave.

What an interesting subject! A very photogenic object with all the curves, textures, and shapes. I like the lighting and the bright background shows off this plant well. Agree with others about the OOF leaf.

Many thanks for all of your generous comments. Sorry, but I don't know how to fix that leaf so close to the stem.

Charlie, at full growth the miniature pineapple is only about 3" from the bottom of the fruit to the top of the crown.

Tim: I commented on your more recent post first and I do prefer it but only by a little. Very nice treatment of an unconventional subject. >=))>
