European Larch Cones.
The only deciduous conifer about to loose its leaves.
Its possible to get away with hand held stacks, as CZM is amazing at lining the pics up (Sometimes ! ) It worked this time. I loiked the colour of the needles not long before dropping.

Very nice close up of this larch in peak fall color. I like the inclusion of the pine cones. Good work with the three image stack. I like the area in detail and oof background.

Great fall image, John. I like the good details on the front branches and the echoing OOF branches in the background. The green/brown background area really helps highlight the yellow color, and the brown pine cones add an extra shot of contrasting color. Well composed and nicely processed.

This really captures the essence of fall. We have larches here in the Rockies (one valley is even called Larch Valley), but I have not been there for a couple of years. Well seen and nicely processed.

The colors of the needles are indeed wonderful and they set off the textures of the cones very nicely. Good job on the capture and stack. On this side of the "pond" we get to add the Bald Cypress, a native, and the Dawn Redwood, Asian import, to the list of deciduous conifers.
