Welcome to NPN, Michael!
There is a great dynamic balance in your image for me. The multidirectional flow of the creek together with the verticals of the trunks at the right and the diagonals of the rocks in the left part keep my attention. Your convincing composition is forcing me to explore the whole image. The crispness of your processing is spot on and consistent with the character of the scene to my eye.

The balance of textures there makes this very appealing. I enjoy following the water through the frame and finding interesting elements along the way.

Michael,
Welcome to NPN and the Landscape gallery! This is a very nice first post (I like your second one better and will comment later on that one.) But this is a very pleasing composition, good color and a nice, simple flow to it. The diffused lighting and the way you've processed the contrast is working pretty well together. Not much to criticize here. The only minor suggestion would be to selectively tone down the saturation in the vegetation in the LRC(lower right corner.) It's not that it's too saturation, but the vibrant green draws the eye and is a little mismatch from the rest of the darker greens throughout the rest of the image. no biggie though.
Welcome aboard! We look forward to more images and your participation in the galleries and forums. Great start with getting involved and commenting! Thanks!
