This is one of the first true macros, that I have taken of an Indian Paintbrush. This one was taken at first light in my front yard. I never realized just how sugary this little guy was! It looked just like a gummy treat! Pretty as a picture and looking just as sweet.

Love the colors, presentation and the mood Lucy. Great frame for it as well.

Lucy - Not a huge fan of the processing but I do really like the star burst like effect provided by the Flower. Good approach to go top down on the Paint Brush.

Lucy:
A bold present appropriate for the festive season!

I appreciate you wanted a soft image with the wide aperture but would personally like to see some parts sharply in focus.

I like the top down approach. More DOF would be good. Do consider focus stacking. It can be a bit finicky and tedious, but it certainly answers the need for DOF with a blurred BG.

Phil. I've never done focus stacking...recommend a good program, anyone? And just how "tedious" is it???

Hi Lucy :wavey: love your artistic interpretation of the Paintbrush :jump: the soft detail in the back petals works for me. I think this is a very fine capture

Hi Lucy, this is an excellent photoart image. I like the colors and the exposure with well optimized blur effect. Central composition works very well in thei almost square format. Well done.
