El Capitan Sunset

Using a gradual ND filter I tried to balance the light. Using a filter in ColorEfex Pro, I added a small amount of warmth and brillance to the image. I did not enhance the hue/saturation. Any c/c's are welcomed. Thanks.

Nice Floyd. Classic scene. Well composed. The snow is a bit blue in its color cast for me.

This is a great angle with the warm sun adding a lot of interest against the blue sky and clouds. The snow seems a little too blue on my monitor, but that may be my monitor.

Great shot, lovely light on El Cap! I see a bit of blue on my monitor as well but that's the only nit on this one. :toast:

Lovely light in this Floyd, and The Captain looks amazing.

I agree with Stan's comments. First there is too much cyan globally. Second, I agree that the 'Nose' of El Cap could use more room to its right. You might also look at increasing the saturation just a wee bit in the reflection of the wall in the water.

Although I agree with the previously made comments concerning the blue or cyan, this is
still a lovely composition of one of Yosemite's icons.

The amazing contrast between the overall cold scene and that red rock face makes this image more than just interesting; it really draws attention, even as a thumbnail!. That said I do believe a slight colour correction is in place like others have pointed out; but be careful not to overdo it and lose the amazing cold/warm contrast. Apart from that I have the feeling the image looks a little soft as presented. Without a larger version and knowing your shooting techs it is rather difficult to comment and provide suggestion on this further though.

A classic scene Floyd captured very nicely. Don't know how many times you've stood at this spot, but I sure can tell you it's not very often that one gets treated to this light even on El Capitan. It's always special.

I'm gonna differ a little bit on the color opinions here. Yes, there is a bit of cyan in the snow and perhaps globally, but for me it's the color on the rock that I think is a little off. This looks too red/magenta than I usually expect to see, or have seen. A quick fix would be to add some green in a color balance layer, reduce the blue(adding yellow) - basically trying to make the light on El Cap more orange than purple. Minor stuff, but I think with some color tweaks you'll have a very nice capture from Valley View.

This is a pretty comp. Maybe a little bit tight and I would try to remove the cyan cast. I love the glowing red rock.

Nice image, Floyd, and great light on El Cap. The snow looks a tad blue to me, easily corrected. I might have opted for a little more foreground considering how nice those tufts of snow look at the expense of a little less sky and maybe a little more room on the right side of El Cap for slightly better balance. Still, overall, a very nice Yosemite winter scene.

Floyd, This is a very pretty winter scene. I like the light here very much and the overall mood of this is really nice! I agree about the cyan being just a little strong. You caught some wonderful conditions here!
