Gum Ball Ornament

We have many Liquid Ambers, or Gum Trees, that turn glorious colors throughout our mild winter in Northern California. I just discovered their "gumballs" last year and think they make gorgeous natural ornaments. They eventually turn brown and fall off the tree.

Sweetgum trees are quite common in our area too. . .I think they are a great tree! As you said, they turn glorious colors in the fall (for us in the NE) and the gumballs are quite interesting too (even though messy on driveways and lawns after they fall). Your photo captures well the interesting textures and shape to these balls--they do look like natural ornaments. Wonderful lighting in this and I love the blurry red background!
