Ceann na Beinne, Sutherland, Scotland

A sand abstract from "Can of Beans' beach in Sutherland, Scotland taken on a Transient Light Workshop back in the spring. The light was quite bright but I think it accentuates the wave-like structure of the sand at low tide.

Pentax 67II
Pentax 67 55-100mm
Velvia 50

Thanks for having a look.

The square crop here is wonderful since the quiet and calm composition is well suited for the subject. I could see this printed at a moderate size, then framed with an extra large white mat to enhance the clean and calm feeling.

This is a quiet and subtle image that is very well done. The sand patterns are interesting and varied and the accent of the beautiful, green water is excellent. Sometimes less is more as you have shown here. Great job!!!

I really like the sand and ripples - the subtle colors are wonderful - same for textures. I'm unsure about the water in the image though.

I think technically this is a fine image. The dof, color and comp are done very well. I think this is one of those abstracts that when you look at it you either like it or you don't. I just doesn't grab me.

Nice comp using the lines in these cool patterns. I like the neutrals against that blue/green water, too. Beauty.

Very interesting patterns and some wonderful textures. I like Ben's thinking on how to frame this. I think that would look great.

A very cool comp Eva! I love 'thinking out of the box' compositions. The texture is great as is the splash of turquoise above. well done.

Eva,

I mentioned simplicity in Ian's recent image, and this has that in spades - simplicity that is. This works beautifully. I really like the little bit of water up top for some context; not only for that context, but I think it really helps tell the story about the little "waves;" why they're here, how they were formed, etc. Love the texture in the large version. Beautifully seen and captured.

Excellent idea here, Eva. As mentioned, although fairly bright it is not too hot or blown out at all...

I really like this, Eva. This would nicely as a large fine art print. I actually really like that you included the water. It is diffcult for me to say why, perhaps because it makes the image a little surreal to me. Very nice!
