I know it's not mine, but for a few hours it felt that way. With no one else around at a place you can't usually get to in November. Another new opportunity offered by the lack of weather that late into the season. This the first time I ever witnessed the "red" light that happens on the various granite faces of Yosemite at times.

I hope you enjoy it, and see the larger one too.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! Thanks for the feedback and fellowship.

Very cool, Chris! Love the red light on Half Dome and the shadowy foreground boulders. I am little bothered by that bright stick? in the shadows towards the right side. Maybe tone that down a bit. Minor nit, though. :toast:

The red light on the distant rocks, especially on Half Dome are incredible. Excellent crafting, very believable.

That is some SWEET light, Chris! I would love to see it someday. The middle boulder blocks the view into the valley a little, but not a deal breaker as the light, color, and your balance of natural looking tones overcomes that. Absolutely lovely.

Dude, I know this spot, I have been standing there and I have an image to prove it! Not a post-able image however. Mine that is.

Yours look great, that orange glow is fantastic. A sight to behold. :toast:

Beautiful Chris! The last light striking HD is just perfect - it really tops the image off even considering all that granite. Wonderfully complimentary sky. Just a great image from Olmsted Pt. What's not to love here? A great sense of place too.

Merry Christmas to you, Pat and the family.

Very nice Chris. This is a fine image as presented with the beautiful color in the sky and the warm glow of the mountains. I do find that that the rock just to the left of center is blocking the view a little as I would really like to see more of the glow on the mountains. I wonder if a composition on the other side of that rock might have been stronger if it would offer a less obstructed of the mountains.

Very Beautiful Chris. You had some amazing light to work with. The glow on the Half dome and Clouds Rest is the icing on this photo. And it is great when you can have such a busy place to your self.

Merry Christmas, Chris!
Now for the humbug...
I think theres too much shadow for the fg to work, all the good light is way in back--i think 2/3 bg 1/3 fg would have been stronger. Pretty scene though... :wavey:
