A vacation in Colorado gave me an opportunity to see very different trees from Texas. The light and shadows in this scene mesmerized me.

Perfect title to underscore the undulating rhythms of this image. I find this mesmerizing. My only nit would be to wish the large, dark tree in the fg wasn't so centered but I think that's minor. Beautiful job on this.

Thanks Nancy,
The reason, that I didn't crop the tree off center is that I didn't want to crop Any of the photo! The most logical place would be a little left of the small tree on the far right middle. But, I like the light there, too!

Lucy,

This is about the light. I like the lines, diagonals and the graphic nature of this too. And because it's about the light, I'm not sure the sky in the UL is adding anything, other than to make this a complete landscape image. Cropping that away I think makes it more of an intimate nature portrait rather than a landscape, if that makes sense. I don't mind the big tree at the bottom - part of what makes this graphic. Also, the b&w works well in this case to make it about the light. Well done.

Technically, I suppose that stripped area running down the left side is probably HOM - it's either a ski run, or is likely just a clear cut area. No biggie.
