Stodertal

Just back from a trip to Stodertal, a valley in the Northern Limestone Alps, Upper Austria. My wife Silvia and me had some great days hiking through this wintry landscape. Yesterday, the gloomy weather made for a mystic atmosphere.

I would like to wish all of you a Wonderful Holiday Season!

I like the mystery created by the clouds Peter. There is also a cool tone to your image the conveys the feeling of cold temperatures.

Hoping you and Silvia have a wonderful Holiday Season too!

This has a very nice feel to it. I like your composition and I think the peak just "peaking" out of the clouds really moves takes this image up a few notches.

Impressive...both the scenery and your rendition of it. This is both dramatic and serene.
Best of the season to you and yours.

Peter,

I love the simple balance of elements in this. The snow-dusted pines at the bottom provide a solid foundation for the scene, and then the mist and fog creep in to tell the rest of the story. The fact that the mountain is less visible than visible adds a great deal of mystery here as others have mentioned.

Not sure if this would improve things or not, but I'm wondering about a slight increase in the lighter values, kinda of taking it further away from the gray mid tones. But that may alter the mood too, so just thinking out loud. Great catch regardless.

I like the elements and light. Could see maybe trying to bring out more texture from the clouds.
