Drought Condition

Drought conditions in the southeast are continuing with Georgia’s rainfall total for 2012 at 16 inches below normal. The Florida Aquifer System that feeds water to the Springs and Rivers in Florida is supplied by rainfall from as far north as the Appalachian Mountains. This is a Cypress Swamp in south Georgia showing the effects of the drought we have been in for several years. Camera HH from the boat ramp dock that is sitting on dry land. Know where to go and what to expect if your planning a trip to Florida this winter and spring season.

Mike, those of us that know swamps are all too familiar with the story this picture tells. I especially like the way the viewer's eye is drawn through the entire photo. I even like the "hot" appearance of the image. It helps give a complete picture - hot, dry, unfortunate.

A telling image. There is potential for some great images there. I would like to see some images closer to the trees if possible.

We were way below normal on rain fall this year also. Lots more wildfires then I have seen here.
