I took this back in 2011 in Highland County Virginia while running around for the day. C&C welcome

Canon 40D, EF 24-105@105mm, 1/125 sec, F8, iso 100, AP, partial metering, handheld, cropped for composition. Minor adjustments in CS6.

A truely lovely setting. Great shadows and DOF. The sky doesn't do much for me, I might have tried a crop just low enough to remove it.

Thanks for the comment, I debated cropping lower but I did not want to loose the top of the mountains, it was a gray shy on this day..I guess I can try to replace it?

I like. Very pastoral. The processing looks fine. There's not much you can do about the sky - it is what it is. I only wish that the foreground grass were sharper.
Strange - This is yet another image I've viewed today where the larger photo is smaller than the gallery image. Hmmm....

Repost Sky Replacement

I had to take it scale it down to meet image requirements, On some images I have to do this, don't know why?
I did a sky replacement.

I really love the fg! The sky is problematic, but not because it's blank--just need to be more of it, the top is too tight. What i would do is bump up the sky saturation as much as possible to give it a hint of color, then expand (not replace) the sky so you have an extra 1/10 or so up top. Or, you could just crop the top--i know you dont want to but IMO it beats making up a weird sky by a long shot

I really like the composition of the image and the colors. I agree with Stan on the sky.

Very nice scene..I think we need to see more of the sky, I think a little boost in color (I think I see a hint of blue) may improve it.

Dave, I'm really enjoying this image! What a beautiful and peaceful feeling place. The larger version shows better with more detail and looks sharper as well. I like it even better with the sky cropped out. Very Nice!
