Lovely. I wish I could see a larger version of it. I love the high luminance and sharpness of the flower and the reduced luminance and softness of the stem and leaves which tend to bring the eye in from the edges toward the flower, especially the dew drops on that one leaf that is in the lower-right rule-of-thirds intersection, and the flower's placement centered on the upper horizontal rule-of-thirds line. I also like that it is centered in the frame horizontally and what looks to be a 5:4 aspect ratio.

As to your name for it, to paraphrase Juliet, "What's in a name? a rose by any other name would photograph equally well under the right circumstances" nice image.

Well, if this is your first of the year, Srini, you've set a very high bar for 2013 as this is top notch. Very beautiful. Question - is that a small bug coming out from under the petal at 8:00 o'clock? You did not post a larger image, so I am unsure. I might clone it out, but that's hard to say without a larger view.

Terrific look at a perfect rose especially with the dew. I'm not sure about the lighting, but the lower stem and leaves feel dark relative to the glowing flower. Oh, yeah, I like the little insect....a touch of reality to a perfect flower

Almost 3D with the bright color against the dark background. Beautiful image.

Nice classical style portrait of a rose! It could be my monitor but the pink/reds seems to be slightly overblown, but it would probably be very simple to correct. I also like the little insect...would be great to see it blown up!

Thank you John, David, Bill, Scott, Mark, Morris & Eirini.

John - This is 4:3 crop. Thanks for great feedback.
Scott - Yes, you are right. I should clone him out!!
Mark - Lighting in this case is available ambient light + set of reflectors to highlight the petals
Eirini - Thanks, I had a second look and pink looks good to my eyes in my monitor. Also the Histogram.

Thank you all for great inputs.
