September Morning

Happy New Year everyone! This is my first post of the new year and was taken back in September in Grand Teton NP. A combination of early morning fog and thick smoke from the wildfires in neighboring states made things extremely hazy on this particular morning. I used my 80-200 to reach out for this little scene in the Teton backcountry. To really appreciate this one it must be viewed LARGE!

As always thanks for any comments and/or critiques you may have!

The soft color and light perfectly convey the feel of a misty morning. Beautifully captured and processed.

A beautiful composition, and well crafted. IMO, this is something out of the ordinary. Ideal as is.

You really managed to capture some magic here Zack. The scene actually seems to have a glow about it. It must be seen large to be fully appreciated, and then it really pops! Excellent capture.

A unique presentation of this autumn scene to me, Zack. Very appealing layers in your composition, and the groups of trees make for nice focal points to my eye.

The soft mood really makes this a special shot for me. I might have tried to compose without the branch in the lower right or maybe clone out if that is within your post processing boundries. This kind of images seems to have a soothing feel.

Nice mood imparted by the fog and haze. Lends that dreamy feel to the scene. I like the colors as well. Beauty.

Very nice comp and a wonderful natural lighting effect here. Looks like elk are just about to enter the scene.

I love foggy shots, and this one is just lovely!
I know how hard it is to part with elements, but FWIW i think this would work better with the top 1/6 cropped--it would simplify the comp greatly!
Hahahaha--i just read Harry's comment, he thought your logo was a branch--well, it looks like one!

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Stan, I was going to ask Harry which "branch" he was talking about...now I see how the mountains could be mistaken for a fallen branch..may have to edit my watermark a bit

The wonderfully soft processing and beautiful lighting speak for themselves here, and make for a very pleasing if slightly surreal ambiance.

Very nice image that sets the fall scene. I would not be surprised to learn that you could hear elk bugling in the forest, I thought I could hear one when I opened the larger image!

Sorry Zack - Boy, do I feel foolish! I guess it was the same tone as that diagonal branch higher up in the image. If it were off white, I'm sure it would have been obvious. Whoops!
