What in interesting flower! I really like the lighting in this and the transparent look to some of the petals. The colors in the background contrast very nicely with the yellow flower. However, I think I would clone out the intruding stem (?) at about the 10:00 position and also darken the bright green blob in the top left corner. . .it pulls ones' eye away from the lovely flower.

What type of cactus is this? It sure has a beautiful bloom! The big patch of light on the left is a little distracting...maybe it could be cloned out?

The bloom is striking in its color, shape and position. The bright blob, upper left, and the over exposed stamen are distractions that can be toned down with some burning in.

I will try to do that! I tried to fix the stamen. I just put photoshop on my computer. I'm new to PS, but I will try. Thank you all.

The bloom is from a cactus plant. It looks like a tree and has such beautiful flowers, yellow and orange. As they age, they change color to coral and orange.

Lovely flower, and the venation makes it outstanding. I agree about the blob and the too bright stamens.

Elizabeth:
I like the flower a lot. Beautiful lighting and the golden glow on the petals is really great. You have some good suggestions already and I think the image would be wonderful once you fixed up the bright blob and the stamen.

Elizabeth: Wonderful subject and a good capture of the flower itself. I've nothing to add to the previous suggestions regarding processing but you could merely crop the left side to remove the bright area. Looking forward to your modifications. >=))>
