Another shot using a rented Canon 500mm. This particular one is a mature bald eagle scanning the water below for fish. Comments and critiques welcome.

excellent feather detail and perfect exposure. Too bad that big branch had to get in the way, but it's still a fine image.
I'd personally clean up some of the smaller branches to simplify the image.
Nice catch!

Details are nice. The twigs in front are a bit unfortunate. There is a very slight blue color cast to the image. Probably from overcast light. A Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, with the blues selected from the option and a very slight movement of the saturation slider will fix that. It is a very small issue, but noticeable.

Excellent pose and a great job on the exposure, Jerry. Focus looks like it might have been somewhere on the body rather than the eye, as it seems just a very tiny bit soft on the head.

You did very well to show the whites on the head this well. I do agree with Keith that the image is a bit cool and could use some color adjustment.

I like the pose and setting, like other have said too bad about that branch going across the eagle. If that had not been there this would of been a fantastic shot.

I appreciate the detail and that you were able to maintain the head and tail white against the stark background.

Making good use of that rented 500 Jerry. Now you'll have to buy one! that new cost is ridiculous compared to the old one.
