Frozen in Time

This poor crane was among the last to fly out. He/she was frozen into the ice, and had a very hard time breaking free. When he finally did get free and flew off, one leg was tucked up under his body. (will post that image in a few days)

Sandy, nice capture of a sad situation. I hope the crane was alright in the long run.

Makes you wonder how they can do this every day and survive. Very well captured.

Nice light and pose Sandy. Perhaps a slightly tighter crop to show the bird more prominently.

Nice techs as usual on this Sandy. I do wish there was a bit more action (like seeing the crane right when a leg broke free). Only reason I say this, is without reading the story, I wasn't really certain what the crane is doing...it's just hard to tell he/she is stuck in the ice is all. Maybe a tighter crop might help see that better? Saying that because if I zoom in, I can tell it is ice better. I like the concept though and love action/behavior shots, so I'm looking forward to seeing more.
