Mysterious Orbs

Hey everyone,

Its been far too long and pains me to have been away. I love NPN and have some great friendships here. Life has been busy and have neglected my shooting and editing priorities as of late. I am turning a new leaf  so be gentle with my new postings as I am a bit rusty.

I shot this last winter as we haven't had much of ice and snow this year. Taken near my home at a small (very small) patch of forest preserve that has been a ice farm for some of my images. Once again, its good to be back and I'll have to catch up on everyones work.

Upgrading computers/software and just about everything so I can't find specs on this one.

I just love ice abstracts Anthony and this one is just beautiful. Orbs aptly describes the scene. Love the shapes and contrasts you have captured here. Not much ice, snow, or cold here in the northeast either. A bit scary how warm it has been.

Hi Anthony! Hey, it's great to see you here again. I have been wondering how you were doing. I felt this was one of your images before seeing the name... Really nice!!

Your photographer's eye isn't showing any rust at all, Anthony. I like the silver/blue palette, and the tones throughout. Your intimates are always a joy to view.

Welcome back to NPN.

As fine an ice image as I've ever seen.

Contrasty tones and mix of shapes create a wonderful abstract. So many pictures within this picture. Sharpness looks great throughout - always a challenge with this kind of macro. Havefun with those upgrades!

Anthony,

Great to see a post from you, glad you decided to post this wonderful ice image. Terrific abstract of nature. I'm really enjoying the combination of shapes, graphics, lines and tones. Not really a critique, but I could see cropping out the top bubble just to focus on the details in the lower portion of the frame, but this works wonderfully as presented too.

Hope to see more!

An intriguing and beautiful ice abstract, Anthony. I love the detail within the bubble in the foreground and I also like how the bubbles in the background mirror the foreground scene. Nice work here!

The tones and patterns are nice, as are the crystals inside the large bubble. The upper bubble makes a nice counterpoint; i do not think th eimage is as strong if it were cropped off, and the darker top area would be lost which gives a nice gradient.
