I have been visiting this tree for 6 years, and never had the sky cooperate with me until Sunday.

Robert:
I like the arborizing branches against the cloudy sky. Good contrast and tonal range. The dark horizon and bg shrubbery however tends to draw the eyes away from the main subject.

It sure is a nice tree & you did get some great clouds! Something seems a little different about this though...did you apply some sort of stylized filter?

The tree has amazing form, brought out by the winter season, and the sky is dramatic. Excellent processing.

A tree with a lot of character, and history too. Almost defiant in it's endurance against nature's onslaught at times. Well done.

Hi Robert, the sky did cooperate with you. The B&W version enhanced the dramatic clouds. I like the shape of this tree too. Would love not include the bush at the two sides in the frame.

This sky was well worth waiting for, Bob ! There's a slightly grainy feel to the tones which I like a lot, and the central position of the main subject seems just right.

Robert: A worthy conversion subject indeed and a fine capture. I agree with a closer lower POV to push the tree up in the frame but this looks pretty good to me as is. Well seen and lets hope you don't have to wait another six years to get another shot at it.>=))>
