Taken in Pt.Reyes National Seashore at McClure's Beach last week late in the day. Loved the textures of this shallow flow of water heading for the Pacific.Processed in LR4. I haven't done much b and w and am wondering about the processing here.

Canon 5d,M3, ISO100, 38mm, f/22, .5 sec.

The trick with B & W is to get good tonal range from black black to white white. I would say you did that, with the exception of the sky. I believe I would either darken it substantially, or possibly crop to the horizon. The former would be better, as it does provide a stopping place for the eye.

I really love the lines and textures in the bottom three quarters of this image and feel like the added focus on them that comes from eliminating the top portion might make it an even stronger, if more abstract view.

I might clip the horizon - reminds me of an Ansal Adams series I saw as a kid. Excellent mix of tones and textures, really nice work. :toast:

I really like the light and tonal range Kathy. I agree with a crop to the horizon.
