This is an image I took last fall in my yard of an intricate spider web covered with dew. The sun had just hit the dew. I darkened the bg and boosted the contrast during processing. The bg colors are from barberry leaves. The image reminds of space for some reason, hence the title. Single image, Nikon d700, 180 macro, extension tube, polarizer, 1/10 second, tripod. Larger image included, but both images are small due to compression issues. Even at these sizes, they were saved at image quality 68. Thanks for looking. Comments, questions, suggestions welcome. :wavey:

Awesome shot! Stunning! The compression is killing you on the smaller version, but this is over the top in the larger!

I like Bill's comment, "a drop lovers overdose". All these amazing drops are almost mind and eye boggling to view! You seem to have caught all of them in good focus and I even see a sun star on one (near center at 4:00). I like the subtle color shadings of the background. Very cool find, Scott!

An amazing image, well presented. It certainly does resemble a starry night, showing once again how related all matter is. Have you counted the dew drops yet?

Yes, Michael. That's why I waited 4 months to post this - I was counting the drops. I'm thinking about offering a big prize to the person who guesses it (note: must be exact!).

Wonderful! Print-worthy! Abstract ...yet not! Just a flat out 0 to 60 in 3.3 sec type photo with noteworthy precision, details, and crystalline-looking sparkle. Well done!!

Scott, Love the colour and the intricate lines connecting the bubbles. Space look for sure. :toast:

Love the abstractness of it, almost mind blowing, or something like that. Like the bg colors too

Outstanding! I could get lost looking into the larger version of this! Wonderful depth and intricacy...which is why the jpeg process tried to choke, it hates detail.

Very cool, I like where you're going here Scott..
Or perhaps it's 'String Theory' (the theory of everything), connecting each parallel universe with the other here
Great post, well done :wavey:
