I photographed these zoanthids from a captive colony in a reef tank. The colony was illuminated with T5 lighting (18,000 deg WB), and photographed with a k10D and Tamron 90mm macro. Final image was produced with combining 10 images in a stack to maximize depth of field. I reduced the saturation slightly prior to constructing of the jpeg files.........................Jim

The composition appears to be good. The variety of colors appears to be unsettling to the eye which goes to the pinkish patch and there doesn't appear to be any direction back to the subject.

Wow, we don't see many macro shots from "under the sea" (even if in a tank). I like it! Great focus and details from all the stacking, great frame-filling comp, and the colors are amazing. . . and you even reduced the saturation! So much beauty and wonder in this world that we don't or can't see. Thanks for sharing this, Jim!

Hard to imagine that you reduced saturation, given how colorful this is, wow! Simply stunning.

This is a wonderful image Jim. You mastered the light which must have been very difficult in tank situation. The colors are gorgeous and the DOF you obtained with the stacking is terrific. Congrats on the WP! :toast:
