Water Girl

I love the level of trust my children show me ,when I suggest a photo idea they may hesitate before they say yes but they never say no.
They are also experts at pulling emotion for the camera ,but this one was a hard shoot as she kept laughing because water kept going in her nose !! You take what you can get when your models work for free !

50MM Lens
F2.8
ISO 620

Good to see you posting more!
What a beautiful young lady! This is a terrific portrait and really shows your daughter's spirit. Very ethereal and mesmerizing. The tones are perfect. I like the first one best, but both are gorgeous!

Thanks Sandy, I have not been posting much as I really struggle to re-size my images under 300, and not lose quality. I have been shooting lots but they are large files. So I get frustrated as I am not a tech savvy person .

Pure art, Lorna! The first has more impact for me. Because of the expression, I think. The second looks like a shot you'll love for years and years!

Something very ethereal about her "look" in the first one. It's quite mesmerizing to the viewer.
Curious as to where you shot these? I'm guessing in the bathtub?? Only because of the light background, your point of view, chosen aperture & ISO, and the fact that her eyes are probably too dilated to be outdoors.

Bathtub it was , we are in mid winter here with -28 temps and -39 windchill. Though it is warmer today for a change there will be no outdoor shots for a few months yet. Thanks for the comments.

Here is a link to my favorite one I had a bugger of a time trying to re-size it for this site so gave up !!

Beautiful image and beautiful daughter. I prefer the first, as I find it much more expressive. Very nice work.

My vote goes for the first Lorna, just for the serious expression. Very well executed in my opinion. I might be tempted to remove the small white specks in the hair (I'm assuming trapped air). But superb work and thought.

How lucky you are to have such a beautiful subject right under the same roof! The first image with her more serious expression is very dramatic, and a bit chilling, somehow. Haunting, almost. The second one shows off her beauty even better!

With outdoor temperatures as cold as you have, I don't think I would be leaving the house!!

Beautiful! I love the way the water frames her face and her hair! Hard to say which I like better....

Nicely conceived and executed. You are lucky to have a cooperative kid! Mine mostly groan and then run away when they see me coming. I too prefer the first photo.

Thank you for the 1st HM , I really appreciate the honor. I know it must have been a tough call for all the moderators to chose just three from each group, and such a wealth of equally amazing images !
