Folks,

After months of search for a spider, it ended up with this specimen. Orb Weaver ??

After this again I would like to assure myself that the best place to find insects is where butterflies are in plenty. This was a slightly upward looking shot, as this one was high up in the plants. The largest Ive seen of the species. A very awkward angle and no place to place the tripod. I had

7D, 70-200 F4l 12mm Extn, and cropped a little for comp. I could not get at the same angle as the web. Anyways I loved the backlight.

Thanks NPN for your support

I love the backlight, too. What a beautiful specimen against a gorgeous background. Great handheld focus :toast:

I can't ID the spider but the image is excellent, Balan. Very good detail in the spider, a good comp, and a nice clean bg. :toast:

I am not sure what kind of spider this is, but you show him off beautifully! The backlighting looks great & you still managed to get good detail on the front side!

I can appreciate the difficulty of this shot, so I REALLY appreciate how well you handled it! Excellent exposure and details, and the background is perfect.
I would guess that it is some kind of orb weaver because it is on an orb-web, but that's just a guess.
