When I go out into the desert with my camera I cant seem to get away from dead cactus!
This was heavily compressed...

The one red leaf makes a great exclamation point. Another fine abstract with very intricate lines and details.

Another interesting and abstract study, Eirini. I like mixture of the dead cactus and the shades of color on the rock. I especially like the intricate design of the dead cactus in the llc. Did you consider a closer up image of just that area? Just curious.

The colors are really pleasing to me and I too like the the spot of red. Its interesting to see the stages of the break down of the cactus within your image. well done again, Eirini.

Scott, It is actually all cactus...no rock (except for the one creosote leaf!). I have tried some close ups of parts similar to the LLC, but nothing I like too much yet...will probably try some more!

Cracklin' good! The cactus looks like lightning and the rock as burned by the bolts... that rust leaf adds much...to anchor the colors and reference the sizes. Large version is great to see... Your signature font fits well.

Your series of cactus abstracts are very enjoyable Eirini. I like this one too since it is filled with wonderful textures and detail. I especially like the orange leaves.

You certainly bring dead cactus to life in your picture, Einni. Your style creates a new appreciation for something we normally walk by.

maybe if you increase the contrast in the yellow areas it will be better IMO

Yeah, jpg doesn't like lots of high contrast detail. This is really nice. I like how the bits of skeleton follow the dark areas and that one little leaf. Is the background rock or plant?...I see you've answered already.

I really like this! It certainly looks like branches against a rock wall; a very counter-intuitive sense of scale.
