Well, here is the first of what, no doubt, will be other and better abstracts of the ice in Dream Lake that everyone was shooting a couple weeks ago.
C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,
Morris

Stunning! I love the bright bright whites slicing through the rich blue! How does one know when it is safe to stand on cracked ice?

Thanks, John.
Thanks, Chet.
Thanks, Erini. Dream Lake in January, February is a sure thing. It's been frozen for months by this time. I'm sure Jimmy Gekas' and Kane Englebert's shots will show the depth of the ice better than this one does. It's almost frozen solid. I believe the guideline is it needs to be 1' thick to safely walk on, but others more knowledeable about ice can chime in here.

Very nice, Morris. I really like the deep blues here. The diagonal lines direct my eye through the frame. I'm sure the details are much nicer at a larger size.

Wow this is just stunning Morris. Wonderful abstract. I wish we had gorgeous ice like this in the northeast. I'll trade you some snow drifts for blue ice.

Very nicely seen. Simple enough to be able to tell its ice yet abstract enough to keep your interest. Nice!

Nice blue tones in this abstract, diagonals of snow covered cracks with texture of the ice (tiny bubbles) do very well.

Absolutely love the depth of the blue in this Morris, the cracks divide the comp up beautifully.

Fascinating set of lines and textures. Can't really go wrong with ice that looks like that. I like how you kept the snowy bits so bright.

The simple form and 2 tone color makes this a fine abstract. Just fantastic, dagger like. You must be holding onto a shot of the ice and those snow puffs on the ice at sunrise, can't wait.

I really like this, Morris! I am checking out the ice detail out here to get an idea of what I am looking at when I got to Dream this weekend. The deep colors and snow highlights look awesome!

Absolutely beautiful, the bright white is perfect with that deep blue and the air bubbles gives it a extra dimension. Definetely a piece of art!
