A New Born

Folks,

This is dug up from my archive. I tried to recollect the situation when I made this image. I was following a macaque family, and to my horror I watched a new born dead and being carried around by it mother. But then it was too emotional for me to shoot that mother and child, and I turned my attention to the rest of the family.

There was another new born in its mothers arms. Going back to my images I do realize, that they have emotions too. Converted to BW as I felt I may add to the expressions there.

Do you feel the contrast needs to go up a bit?

C&C welcome

This guy sure has an endearing, wrinkled old-man's face! I like the expression. In this shooting situation I think I would have pointed the camera a little more to the left or perhaps tried a vertical. This capture appears to have focus on the mother's hair beyond the baby. Ideally one would have preferred focus to be on the baby's eyes.

The contrast could go up a tiny bit...but I'd like more focus on the baby. IMO, the mom's arm on the right side is not crucial to the baby, so I'd crop most of it. But, those ears....how funny are they! :jump:

Sweet shot thought I'd like to see more of at least part of the mother's face.
