Hi, I am very excited to have joined this forum. I live in the Ocooch mountain area of South West Wisconsin which is a very beautiful part of the state missed by the glaciers and hence has many lovely hills and valleys. I am originally from England but have been in the States since the early 60's. I love this country and find it to be a thing of great beauty, some of which I hope to photograph in future years. I am relatively new to photography and anticipate learning much from this respected community. Thank you.

Hi Beth Heubner, I'm actually part of a contigunous state, IL, over by Rockford. All of us here in Illinois understand the great photographic opportunities in Wisconsin.

I love the light in the image you posted of yourself. Lovely shot and vibrant colors!

As I see you standing over on the left side of the image, with the rail fence behind, slightly sloping upward toward the right, I notice the angular branch of the tree coming into the upper right corner, and I think that pulls the attention that way, perhaps to think you will be skiing to the right side of the frame, and I think that left-to-right flow is a good one.

Welcome to the forum! Love your introductory picture.

Welcome!! Every new person makes NPN stronger. We look forward to your active participation, both in posting and also in critiquing and commenting on other's work. Both will refine and hone your own skills.
Be sure to check and participate in the Midwest forum too (under "Forums") where you'll hopefully have a chance to meet others and participate in local gatherings and excursions.
Glad you're with us!

Sandy

Welcome to the group Beth. This is a fantastic place to develop your photography skills and learn from some incredibly talented people. A nice chilly looking winter Wisconsin scene but spring will be here before we know it. :toast:
