Winter Tales #2

Many thanks for your thoughtful and honest comments on my last post.

This one is the second part of my series, again from a trip to the Vienna Woods in Lower Austria. The foggy atmosphere together with the hoar frost made for some interesting patterns to me.

Please feel free to take a look at the larger version.

Comments and critique are appreciated.

cool textures that you framed very nicely. my eye is immediately drawn to the warmer colored bark? on the left. if i were to nitpick, I would want that shape to be a little more prominent and evident of what it is. I really like this shot regardless. very nice work, Peter!

This is nice work Peter! There is some wonderful detail in here with all those fine branches and I love the feel this has. I really enjoy the way you see these scenes and capture them with so much mood. I think most people walk right by these (including me) and you make art out of them. :toast:

I love the mood in this winter landscape, Peter. As you already mentioned the fog and the hoar froast make for a great combination. Beautifully done. :toast:

This is a strong image with the incredible detail delineated by the frost. The solid dark shapes of the trees help organize the detail and lead one into the photo. I like it, Peter. Well done!!!!! Chet

I love what the hoarfrost has done here. Wonderful image and wonderfully framed.

There's an awful lot going on in this; I think what holds it together are the strong, bold tree trunks in the background. Otherwise, I think I'd get lost in all those tiny twigs and branches. Those big, dark tree trunks show through, and that makes a big difference. it ends up being a nice feeling for me.

You captured a lot of details in this shot. The hoarfrost is a great an important element in this shot and made the comp work well. I like this one more than your previous post

I like how you filled the frame with the trees here. Two things I find a little jarring...the 2 red areas in the trees and how the far left trunk bows to the left with a sudden lack of branches. I prefer your last post...and think if you did the same thing as here by eliminating the sky & the ground that would be even better!

I like the lace effect the frozen branches have in this. Nice.
