Here is a small section, where the falls have scoured away a very smooth runnel in the rock face.

Smooth indeed! I like how there are still remnants of sand on the rock! The lighting seems a tad harsh but it makes for an interesting view all the same!

Lucy, your composition with that kind of flow and the color contrast works very well for me, an interesting intimate capture.

I just think of a version with a less harsh light, that might have a more abstract character. The area out of focus in the lower right corner is a bit distracting for me.

This is a interesting capture, Lucy. I like the look here with the diagonal flow of the scene. The contrasting colors works very well too with the grey supplying a nice canvas or backdrop for the smaller cascade of rocks.
I do agree with the idea on the harsh light here and hope there is a chance for a retake at some point in time in better light. If so I might really try to place the flow area at a complete diagonal from corner to corner if possible, or just crop down a bit from the top to tighten that diagonal some. Also, the LRH corner seems to suffer from OOF for some reason. Maybe DOF or angle of view. Just a thought if there is a retake on the scene you might check that.

I like the various textures created in the stone. Makes for an interesting abstract

Great diagonal lines and I like the contrasting color of the loose rocks/soil falling through it.
Very good geological interest - An excellent example of erosion over a VERY long period of time..
Well done Lucy :wavey:
