Creek bank in winter

Ok, I thought I would try to jumpstart submissions for the theme this week. It can be rather unclear. My definition for this challenge would be: One color pervades the image to an unrealistic degree which is often undesired. However, for this challenge, show us images where you think it adds rather than detracts to the overall feel of the image. Such as my photo which has a blue cast. I like that look because it means "cold" to me. This is taken on the top of the creek bank looking down onto the snow/ice covered creek.

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/32 at 1/25 sec. ISO 200. Natural lighting.

Carolyn, the blue color or cast definitely adds to the "feeling" of the capture here. Although the blue is pronounced in the shaded area, it is not inhibiting the nice warm color or true color of the foliage. The larger version provides some excellent detail too.

At first, I thought we see the blue cast on the snow in the foreground against the blue sky beyond, but then I see that it is snow beyond. I live in a climate where we don't see snow, but I think the blue cast (if I could bring myself to go out in the cold) would drive me crazy. Here, in your photo, it looks great.

This is a beautiful image...I love the colors, the mood, and the simplicity of the lines. Wonderful composition.

I like the simplicity of the vine tangle and how it's isolated against the soft background. The blue shadows enhance the cold crispness of the sunlit bits of snow.

Very graceful and well-proportioned. The color is lovely. This is an excellent reflection shot. I suppose that every reflection shot is also a color cast shot. I hadn't thought of this.
