This is about as green as it gets!
green algal mat at the river's edge in Pederales State Park.
My husband still thinks I'm nuts taking photos of algae, dead leaves, etc

This is definitely a lovely green. As an abstract, I think there are several potential comps here, like the swirls in the upper left and the two small puffs of yellow surrounded by the greens in the right half. The bright yellows along the bottom are mostly distracting to me.

Well this certainly has a green color cast to it! Love the green swirls and fine textures. Like Mark, I think there are various comps that could be made of this image but great as is too. My suggestion for a different comp would be cropping down some from the top. For that pano comp especially, I think the yellow greens help add variety to the image. So many ways to look at things. . . Kudos to you for seeing potential photos in algae, dead leaves, etc. no matter what your husband or others think!

There is a hidden beauty to mats like these. I think the bottom left yellow is a bit bright.

The swirls in the upper left quarter do make an interesting abstract.
