Through Thin Ice

Here's another "icestract" of a young, submerged water lily leaf refracted by ice structures created during an overnight freeze. This is a 9 shot stack to get top to bottom sharpness. Processed with TK's triple play and some luminosity painting. (5D3, 70-200 f2.8 + 36mm ET, 0.4s, f/13, iso 200, tripod, cable release, polarizer, and mirror lock up)

I really like the color in this image. I did not have any color to work with.

Mark,

Another great abstract in the ice find. Very colorful and a great design. The lily to me looks like a seashell to me. Looks like it could actually be flowing water on top, but then the little frozen bubbles say otherwise. Nice job with the processing too.

Interesting abstract, Mark. I like the way that the lines fan out in all directions and the color really sets this apart from other ice abstracts. Processing looks good too.

Love the color and design, Mark and really enjoy the ambiguity of the lilies caused by the ice diffusing the detail of lily yet making the colors so enchanting. Outstanding.

I like how the ice accentuates the colors and how the radiating lines add texture and form. Wonderful icestract Mark.

This makes for a fine ice abstract. Great colors coming through, and the lines in the ice create a nice visual flow kind of draining the eye to the bottom. Well done.

Mark, the colors and ice patterns radiating outward like a fan are pleasing. Nice abstract. I like this more than the mad rabbit.

Hi Mark :wavey: It's remarkable how a sheet of thin ice can optically change the scene. the abstract view we see is breathtaking :toast:
