hey folks :wavey:

it's been a while since i've posted here, but today i finally found the time to upload an image. i took this one 3 years ago on my first trip to new zealand.

if you're curious why i chose to upload an old image rather than a new one, you can find the answer on my blog.

Mount Cook National Park, New Zealand

Canon 400D/Digital Rebel Xti, Sigma 24-70mm @ 70mm, GND
ISO 100, f/8, 8 seconds
two exposures blended for DR, processed in LR and PS (TKs luminosity masks)

best,
joerg

Absolutely beautiful photograph! On my monitor it could be a little bit darker.

Joerg,

Welcome back, nice to see an image post from you. This is beautiful! The color of the sky is wonderful, but it's that hovering veil of clouds that really makes this image for me. Excellent job with this one.

Joerg, This is a very beautiful scene. I very much enjoy the light and colors along with your composition. Those low clouds made a great additions to an already beautiful shot.
I enjoyed reading your blog and finding out more about this image.

Really like the comp and the detail and color in the foreground and mountains. Everything is very nicely balanced. My only thought is that the sky maybe looks a bit to "clean" behind the mountain.

It all works so nicely together. I especially love the thin clouds hovering in the middle.

Beautiful scene Joerg. Lovely sky colour and wispy clouds on the mountains. Very calming.

Oh - I thought you were in South America by now. Too bad you had to cancel the trip.

I love the shot. The composition is rock solid with the tree on the right balancing the peak on the left and the appropriate share of land, mountains and sky. Together with the wonderful light and the great processing this is another great addition to your portfolio.

I like the saturation in this finely composed shot Joerg, nice clarity too.

Joerg, I appreciate the fine balance in your composition with the tree at the right counteracting the summit at the left in a most appealing way for me. The pastel colors in the sky are beautiful to my eye and the slight haze makes for an excellent separation of the layers.

A nice landscape all around. The peak on the left side and a large tree on the right side balances the image nicely.

Very nice, Joerg. Good job with the exposures and blending. The colors are very real also. It seems like just a bit too much sky (over 50% of the scene). Maybe a slight crop off the top would balance it a little better. It would be more of a panorama but I think it might work.
