Last Thursday we had a rare snowfall in Tucson, unfortunately it melted quickly. There is a strange beauty in the stark contrast of snow in the desert. Anyway I don't normally post over here but every now and then I manage to take a scenic image that I like. Any comments or critiques would be appreciated!

Beautiful Tonia. Love the contrast between the cold snow and the dry desert cactus. Nice capture, and really nice composition.

A story telling portrait of the cacti for me, Tonia. I like your inclusion of the surroundings, especially the tangible foreground elements. The spots of snow add a lot in my opinion.

Nice look at this rare event. The saguaro's stand out nicely and I like how the amount of snow increases front to back. I think that cropping much of the rocky area at the bottom removes bits that don't add much to the story.

Very nice image. I like how the color feel sort of changes from bottom to top. The white clouds kind of make it feel even more wintery.

Y'all were blessed with the snow in the desert. I like the softer light you caught on the saguaro, and it looks like you did well with the exposure of brighter sun on the snowy mountain.
