Frosted Rugosa

This is a wild rose of some sort. Maybe a rugosa? The frost that morning made this just sparkle. I am disappointed in the distracting buds in the llc and I'll keep trying to work on it but it's a pretty large area (for me and my unexperienced "healing").

I think you can make those buds go away, but, I also find them giving this capture depth Chris. Well captured as is in my opinion.

Nice comp in this image, Christine--good placement of the flower in the top left and the leaves angled down to the bottom right. I actually like the OOF buds in the lower left corner. . .they add a sense of context to this image. I think all they need is a bit of darkening which is easily done if you have any sort of editing program. . .just run the highlight burn tool over the flowers until they are less noticeable. Nice texture and wonderful color in this flower and the frost adds a nice sparkle. I do wish the focus was a bit sharper towards the front of the flower however.

Overall, this is quite attractive, Christine. The light made the dew sparkle nicely, but it also created a lot of contrast which makes the image looks a little busy. Like Carolyn, I would have liked the close petals of the flower in focus because that is the natural point of focus for the viewer.
