Another Icon Image?

Canon 5DIII, 24-70 f2.8II, 1/25sec@ f/11, ISO 100
Zion National Park, Utah, November 8, 2012.

So how many of you have stood on that bridge in Zion National Park, waiting for that perfect sunset to capture the iconic image? I have, numerous times and have never been lucky to have the right conditions at sunset. This shot, from last November, was taken at 11am. The clouds made for an interesting sky, while cutting the harsh light--natures soft light box.

Comments and critiques appreciated.

Thanks,
David

Wow David! I love this shot. The larger version is just amazing to look at. I feel like I'm standing right there in this beautiful scene. The light is very pleasing and the colors are wonderful. Excellent comp too! :toast:

Great capture. The row after row of mountain ridges really add to the depth of the scene. Wonderful sky as you mentioned.

David, this is a very nice classical composition to me. I especially appreciate the course of the river leading into the depth and the way its curve is repeated by the trunks at the right. Your choice of shutter speed keeps just the right amount of interesting details of the flow to my eye. Finally, I enjoy the beautiful autumn color palette. Thanks for sharing.

The subtle colors and the long view make this great. I too feel like I'm standing there.

Works well on all levels. My eyes keep moving pleasantly along different lines to take in all the elements. Love the subtle earth colors.
