Snow Bound Sunset

Sunset behind my home the evening after the blizzard several weeks ago. I know some may not like the trees in front of the sunset but I like it. Beyond the trees is a frozen pond which I usually go down to watch the sunset but on this day, the snow was waist deep in some places due to the snow drifts.

Canon 5DM2
Canon 24-70mm at 51mm
ISO800 1/30sec f/8

Thanks for having a look.

This is lovely as is IMO. The few remaining rust color leaves and that beautiful curved snow drift makes it great in my opinion.

This is quite nice! Foreground works great here, and the branches seem to complement rather than detract from the skies.

Comp works perfectly for me, Eva! Love the colors. You might back off the sharpness just abit--its a soft scene so doesnt have to be super sharp. :wavey:

A wonderful and creative composition to me, Eva. I appreciate the trunks as connecting lines between the snow at the bottom and the glow in the sky. Finally, the remaining brown leaves in the middle just make the difference for me.

This shows off a lovely, gentle sunset. I like the balance of the pink clouds against the clear snow at the bottom. It sure looks like a fine time to be out exploring.

So why are you letting waist deep snow stop you... :jump:

This screams winter and gives me the shivers! The lovely color of the sky filtered through the branches is beautiful. Well done.

Eva, this is really an excellent image. The layers works so effectively here, with the trees giving a really nice graphic element to the image. I really like that the trees have a hint of detail, though, and the persistent autumn leaves add a nice splash of color, complementing the color in the sky. The touch of color on the foreground snow is wonderful as well. You must enjoy having this area so close to your home.
