Here's another from my Florida trip! While camping on Cumberland Island we had the opportunity to learn about light painting at night. After shooting the sunset I decided to focus more on cool effects I could get with light painting. I tried a few different things with a palm tree, but one of the intructers announced we only had 10 more minutes before we had to head back to camp. I decided to try a different subject. I noticed that someone had left their tripod and camera there while they talked to some of the other students. I soon realized that the camera belonged to Ruth Hoyt (one of our instructors). I took a few images of just the camera pointed to the tree before she asked "Do you want me in the picture?", and I said yes as I thought it would make a cool image. I took images of her standing there with and without her headlamp turned on, just to get a variety of images. I made sure that I had a really slow shutter speed so that I could get the best effect on the tree. I couldn't believe it actually worked out this good without any movement from Ruth! I took many images of this scene so I could make sure I got what I wanted.
Thanks for lookin'!
