This Reddish Egret was fun to watch in the early morning sun. The image was taken at Black Point Wildlife Drive Merritt Island, Florida. Canon 7D 300 mm ISO 400 f/11 1/500.

While I am sure it is gazing at food, one cannot help but be reminded of Narcissus.

Hello Bill

Great Capture! The reflection adds to the image, Wing position is Sweet.

Never seen a Red yet, but hoping to see while in upcoming Cuba Adventure.
Is that his Tail Feathers dragging in the water ? Is this his Breeding Plumage ?

I have heard these guys are Overactive( Similar to Red Squirrel ) & are constantly on the move?

Enjoy the Image... Great to see a Larger Version !

Bill

It is said they run like a drunken sailor. Very common in Florida. Hard to get sharp Thank you

I like the lighting a lot here Bill. If it would have been possible to avoid the tree in the fg by moving to your left that would have improved this. Welcome to NPN

Really nice. Only the foliage at lower right corner distracts my eye, and I find myself wanting to see more of the ring at the bird's right foot. Beautiful.
