Very old worm gear from a woodworkers vise.

I like the repetition, the curvilinear diagonals fading off into darkness and the implied diagonal going from lower left to upper riight.

Ideas that occurred to me but which I ruled out were (a) more luminance, but that might have jepordizzed the ultimately negative space in the upper right corner, which would have been totally wrong, and (b) possibly B&W, but I think that the rust color is an important component to this.

I like the panaroma aspect ratio. I can't really think of anythig to add, except to say, very nice work!

The dark lighting and background show off the great design and textures in this vise. Pano comp works well for this too. Unique macro, Charlie.

The lighting on this is really fine and I like how it fades into darkness on the right. It's a bit dark for my tastes, but that's artistic choice. Well seen.

I have boosted the brightness and contrast a bit and on my monitor (not calibrated) it looks better. Thanks for all critique and comments. I also need my eyes calibrated so let me know if this looks better to your eyes.
