Ornamental Peach

I recently picked up another lens (Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM Pancake) for my collection, and it didn't break the bank either.
Here's one from some test shots at the nursery yesterday.
F/6.3, 1/800th, ISO 640, 1D M3 handheld under overcast skies & breezy.
The 'STM' sound was slight, and I found the focus surprisingly quick, & accurate.

I like the smooth background your new lens produced! These are such lovely flowers! I wonder if a tad more luminance could be added to bring out the highlights a little more...otherwise, very nice!

We just finished the second week of lent...this year Easter for us is May 5th!

Howard: I like the results from your short focal length and think you managed it very well. I think I'm going short when I break out the 100mm! Top notch shot.>=))>

Luminance.. by a 'tad'
Can't do much more without blowing out the light parts of the petals, and it was overcast so it what it is.
I just stood over the small potted tree and waited for the wind to die down long enough to a get a few snaps..
Just a test run anyway Eirini :wavey:

A very beautiful variety it would appear. The lens seems to be working just fine.

The difference is slight, but I like the repost better! The darker red areas seem like they came a little more alive as well!

Beautifully composed, Howard, with excellent dof. I go along with the shift in light of the repost.
