Blue and Gold

A spring afternoon on Table Mountain in northern California. Goldfields and sky lupine are the predominant flowers. Table Mountain is a "lava plug" and there are many rocks among the flowers and cows.

Canon 5d, M3, ISO500 45mm, f/11, 1/250 sec. Hand held, thus the high IS0.

Comments and critiques welcome. Thanks in advance.

Excellent hand held image Kathy. Personally I would crop some of the sky to make more of a pano image. I also think that the black thing (cow)? lying down near the one standing in the center is very distracting. I would remove it in PS but I think I would leave the one that is standing.

The ominous clouds and the happy flowers make for a nice contrast. The clouds lok a little too cyan or green on my monitor. Maybe a slight adjust wold render them more of the gray I think you were after? In any case, reallly enjoy the mood created here. The animals help tell the story and I am glad you included them.

Beautiful scene here Kathy. Nice composition and flowers with the ominous sky. I too see a cast in the sky. Really well done.

The large view really shows off the beauty of your shot. The domesticated cattle will probably get you moved to the Man and Nature gallery.

"Landscape Gallery (formerly Earth, Sea and Sky) - Landscapes, seascapes and celestial images with no recognizable "hand of man."

This is a fine comp, has excellent natural color, and the clouds add mood. Very well done.

Beautiful spring scene. I love the contrast of the colors in the pasture and the cloudy and dramatic sky.

Lovely pastoral scene. I like the drama in the sky and the serenity below.

The tree is maybe a tad too close to the rhs; otherwise i think this is an excellent comp with nice light and great colors. Reminds me of some scenes near Ferndale that i used to frequent...
