The pier on Lake Michigan was covered with ice. I waited for a whole day for some light to take this shot. But the sun never came out. Well, the blue hour at dusk was just as good.

Nice contrast of yellow and blue and I like the starburst effect in the light and how its reflection provides one side of a triangle with the pier. The main pier also forms a triangle and there is one to its right against the right edge of the image. These together with the rectangles on the left and top make it interesting to me in terms of simplicity of geometric construction.

Thanks, John. Most of the lighthouses on lake Michigan are rather complex structure. I like this one for its simplicity.

Beautiful mood and well composed. I also love the color contrast of the warm light from the lighthouse and the cold blue tones. Beautiful work

This image makes me shiver! The feeling of cold isolation is enhanced by the blue tones.

The lead in is wonderful and the blue tones chilling John. The light star and beacon are excellent.

Super composition. The limited palette really emphasizes the linear features. Both the starburst and the reflected beam of light temper the moodiness of this image in a really interesting way. Congratulations on the WP.
