The Sixth "C"

AZ used to brag about it's Five "C's" - Copper, Citrus, Climate, Cotton and Cattle. Hey, what about Cattle Egrets? I hadn't seen one in Kearny before and this was the first I ever shot, so obviously some emotional attachment to this. Add that I got the shot with my GPL (Guilty Pleasure Lens - 18-300 Nikkor) which I throw on when I'm not feeling serious, and I'm tickled that I got this shot. Not the sharpest piece of glass, but I went back out and shot again with my 500mm prime and I'd rather have this on my wall than any of the 500 mm shots. Goes to show that timing beats MTF. Local landmark Tam O'Shanter Peak in the background.

Feel free to add more C&C's.

Cheers,
Verm

I like it Verm although I might be tempted to crop a bit of the shrubbery from the bottom.

Love thos guilty pleasure lenses. After lugging god knows how many kilos of glass around it is great to pick up a lens that is so light. I keep a Nikon 70-300 on an old D80 body and every time I pick it up I just want to keep using it.

A nice find for the location. And unusual to get an image of one in flight.
